Lara Sayegh
Lara Sayegh is an Iraqi artist, based in London who skilfully manipulates natural forms of the environment in an abstract formation. This invites her audience on a journey of depth and compositions inspired by nature and the environment.
Most of her works are made using gestural brushstrokes which record a rhythmic motion on the canvas. Lara found her calling with abstract expression, focussing on flow at the core of her work, her form of freedom.
Colour takes on a central role in Lara's artistic language. With a palette of oils on aluminium or linen, Lara works in large scale between the floor and the wall, creating a final image focused on colour relations inspired by the environment.
In her abstract oeuvre, she delves into in-depth investigations between the links of nature, particularly the evocative imagery of wave-like streams. Lara deliberately leaves her work open to personal interpretation, adopting the role of a storyteller who invites each observer to become the author of their own experience.
