Howard Flanagan

Howard Flanagan

Howard Flanagan is an international artist  who has become more widely known over the last few years for his individual, highly detailed paintings. Over the last year he has had highly successful one man shows  in Liverpool and at The Malthouse and Courtyard Galleries, Lyme Regis and has earned him membership of the International Guild of Realism.

He was selected as a finalist for the Westmorland Landscape Prize 2019 and was also a finalist in the 2017 Sunday Times Watercolour Artist of the Year.

Howard has exhibited with the Royal Watercolour Society and the Pastel Society.

His work is in many private and corporate collections in the UK, Australia,  Europe, Ukraine, Russia and China. He also has a large following in the USA and Canada.

Howard became the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2019-20 race fleet artist, having worked extensively with its official charity, Unicef UK, in the 2017-18 edition of the race. He produced a series of original paintings and limited edition prints to help raise awareness and funds for the children's charity and painstakingly captured the extraordinary challenge of the Clipper Race.

His current work in pastel, watercolour and ink vividly captures the unadorned natural beauty of the oceans and the landscape around us.
